3 killed in pre-dawn firing in Manipur

The firing took place before dawn near the Phougakchao Ikhai village in the Bishnupur-Churachandour border

Three people were killed in fresh shootings before dawn today near the Phougakchao Ikhai village in the Bishnupur-Churachandour border in Manipur.

The firing, sources said, began around 430 am and is still on. Two people from the hills side and one from the valley side are reported killed. Few others are reportedly injured.

Northeast Live is trying to get details of the incident from the authorities.

Manipur has been reporting incidents of firing and gun battles almost every day. On Wednesday, a woman was shot dead near a school in Imphal West.
