The Ad hoc teachers under the banner of the All Nagaland Ad hoc Teachers’ Group 2015 Batch called off their proposed hunger strike which was slated to begin today following the government’s assurance to move the Interlocutory Application in the Court.

While the government had also offered a separate pay scale to the teachers, that proposal was rejected by the group. The All Nagaland Ad hoc Teachers’ Group however said they will not hesitate to resume the hunger strike if the government does not accept their sole demand which is regularisation of services.

Meanwhile, the group will submit its list of demands to the Principal Director, Directorate of School Education after which it will take a call on whether to continue its agitation. The Ad hoc teachers had been protesting for the last 7 days demanding regularisation of services.
