BJP leader Nalin Kohli said the Congress has no presence and that the people of Northeast are rejecting the party elections after elections
Less than a year left for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, and the BJP is reaching out to the masses seeking a 3rd term for Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister.
BJP national spokesperson Nalin Kohli, one of the key minds of the party, today teared into the Congress and said that there is nothing wrong if the grand old party is dreaming about making inroads in the Northeast and especially in Assam.
Speaking to Northeast Live on the sidelines of a Maha Sampark Abhiyaan, Kohli said, “If the Congress believes that after winning Karnataka they are going to make deep inroads in Northeast and specifically in Assam, they are welcome to live in their dreams, nobody can stop another political party from dreaming, but the ground reality is against them. The ground reality is not with the Congress party, they don’t have a positive agenda, their only agenda is criticize PM Narendra Modi, criticize BJP.”
“Can a negative agenda be an alternative? I mean they have no presence, the people of the NE are rejecting the Congress in elections after elections,” Kohli added.
The senior BJP leader also commented on the Patna Opposition meeting. He asked, “Who is going to be their leader? What is going to be their agenda? What is their positive agenda, it can’t be only anti-Modism or opposing PM Narendra Modi or opposing the BJP. So what is that positive agendda or alternative that they are offering?”
Speaking about the BJP’s prospects in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Assam, Nalin Kohli said, “Excellent prospects in Assam, there is no question about it. Its evident from the work that is being done by the govt led by Himanta Biswa Sarma. I think it is a very good time for the state of Assam.”
“Assam is no longer viewed as a growth engine of Northeast, it is being seen as a potential growth engine of India. The economy and the activity of Assam is going to be very important in the times to come for the country,” Kohli further said.
Earlier in the day, the BJP national spokesperson visited the residence of renowned physician from Dibrugrah Dr Nirmal Sahewala as part of the BJP’s Maha Jan Sampark Abhiyan. Kohli had fruitful discussion on general issues of the state during the meeting.
The BJP is organizing the Maha Jan Sampark event in the run up to the 2024 lok Sabha elections. The party aims to connect with notable individuals from each Lok Sabha constituency.
