Meghalaya Rains: 40-year-old man drowns in Nongpoh, body fished out

The man took refuge in a shop near a stream but he slipped and fell into the stream. The strong currents swept him away
A 40-year-old man drowned and died after he was swept away by the strong currents of a stream in Nongpoh, Ri-Bhoi District of Meghalaya.
The unfortunate incident is said to have occurred last night when Nongpoh was lashed by heavy rains for almost three hours.
As per information, the man was taking refuge in one shop near that stream but unfortunately he slipped and fell into it and was swept away by the gushing current.
The body of the man was recovered after a search operation of almost two hours.
The deceased was a resident of Umlyngkdait.
