The SKM government led by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang will be completing its four years in office on Saturday. Except the row over the Sikkimese identity as per the Finance Act 2023, the term so far for Prem Singh Tamang has been a steady one.

Just a day ahead of the SKM government celebrating its 4 years in office, political secretary to the Chief Minister and also the SKM spokesperson, Jacob Khaling spoke to Northeast Live and highlighted about the government’s success story.

According to Khaling the government has succeeded in resolving key issues that had been pending since long. Jacob Khaling said,”We can definitely say that the 4 years in government was really successful. Every promise made to the people, have been fulfiled such as providing jobs to the unemployed youths, works pertaining for development of Sikkim, resolving issues of ad hoc teachers. We have succeeded in resolving issues which were long pending.”

Khaling also responded to the Opposition’s allegations that the government had failed in addressing the issues as promised to the people before the elections. The SKM leader said,”The opposition levels this allegation on us because they (SDF) remained in government for 25 years but did not fulfil any of the promises made to the people. They know this very well. They are just trying to shift the blame. This is totally wrong.”

According to Jacob Khaling everything will be clear when the SKM will reach out to the people before the impending elections, highlighting as to what the PS Tamang government has done for the people’s welfare.
