As per the summer schedule the Delhi-Pakyong flight will arrive at 12:40 PM at Pakyong and will take off back to Delhi by 1:10 PM daily
In some good news for air travelers, SpiceJet would resume its flights between Delhi and Pakyong (Sikkim) from May 20. The flight services would resume after a gap of almost 7 months.
Currently only Kolkata-Pakyong flights are operational.
As per the summer schedule the Delhi-Pakyong flight will arrive by 12:40 PM at Pakyong and will takeoff back to Delhi by 1:10 PM. It will be one flight daily. This will surely be very helpful for the local people visiting Delhi for treatment as well as for tourists wanting to visit Sikkim.
Earlier, on October 30, SpiceJet had suspended air services to the Pakyong Greenfield airport due to, ‘operational reasons’, but did not specify the reasons.
Reports suggested that Spicejet was facing operational constraints because of bad weather and low visibility forcing the service provider to suspend its operations.
According to reports, Spicejet authorities stating more about its decision to suspend the operations had said, “Pakyong is a VFR (Visual Flight Rules) airport and does not have instrument landing facilities. Required minima to operate from this airport is 5,000 feet, which is difficult to achieve on most days in a year, especially during the winter months. To avoid inconvenience to our passengers, flight operations have been temporarily suspended. We will share an update once the services resume.”
