Tawang DC meets Indo-Tibet border inhabitants in district, distributes jackets to border workers

In a gesture of gratitude and support, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Tawang, Kesang Ngurup Damo, visited border posts and villages situated near the Indo-Tibet border under the Jemeithang circle on Saturday. During the visit, DC Damo met with border inhabitants and distributed free jackets to laborers from the Border Road Organization (BRO) who were working in the border areas, including Nelya and other places located approximately 12,000 feet above Lumpo village, the last border village of India on the Indo-Tibet border.
The distribution of free jackets to the hardworking laborers is part of an ongoing initiative sponsored by The Hans Foundation, a Gurgaon-based non-governmental organization (NGO), and supported by the Arunodaya Welfare Society.
During his interaction with the BRO laborers working in these remote areas, DC Damo expressed his gratitude for their dedicated service in the development and security of the nation. He encouraged them to uphold honesty and sincerity in their duties while maintaining the sanctity of the border area.
He later visited the forward areas and interacted with the jawans of the Indian army. While returning DC visited Lumpo village and interacted with the villagers and Gaon Burah of Lumpo village Nawang Chotta and other senior citizens of the village.
DC Tawang was accompanied by the Circle Officer of Jemeithang, Deewan Mara, the Commanding Officer of the army unit at Lumpo, the Officer Commanding GREF Jemeithang, and other esteemed army officers.
