Manipur unrest: 1 Manipur Police commando killed, 3 injured in gun battle with armed militants

The gunfight took place this morning at around 8AM in Tronglaobi village in Bishnupur district bordering Churachandpur district of Manipur

Fresh incidence of violence was reported this morning from Tronglaobi village in Bishnupur district bordering Churachandpur district of Manipur.

A fierce gun battle took place between a Manipur Police commando patrol team and armed militants at around 8am this morning, sources said.

According to reports coming in, one Manipur Police commando died and 3 were injured in the attack.
This attack comes within hours of the Dolaithabi (in Imphal East district) incident where an Assam Rifles jawan was injured when a column of Assam Rifles on area domination was fired upon by some armed miscreants at around 11 AM yesterday.

The jawan had receive gun shot injury and is undergoing treatment.

However, overall situation in Manipur continues to be violence free with no more communal clashed being reported since May 8. Close to 2,000 students and residents from other states have been evacuated till yesterday.
