157 Arunachal students evacuated from trouble-torn Manipur

The flight carrying the students departed from Imphal at 7 pm, arriving at Guwahati an hour later by 8pm

The evacuation of students and residents from Manipur continued. A total of 157 students from Arunachal Pradesh who were pursuing MBBS, BDS, Nursing, and postgraduate studies in RIMS, Manipur were evacuated last night.

The flight carrying the students departed from Imphal at 7 pm, and arrived at Guwahati an hour later by 8 pm.

The students expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh for their unwavering support and timely action.

On their arrival in Guwahati, the students were provided with dinner, and transportation arrangements were made for their onward journeys to different parts of Arunachal Pradesh. Buses and wingers were organized, for their travel to Itanagar, Pasighat, Dibrugarh, and Tawang.

Earlier, On May 6, the North East Students’ Organisation (NESO) tying up with district administration and police evacuated as many as 50 students.
