The National Testing Agency (NTA) had initially scheduled the NEET 2023 examination to take place on May 7

Amidst the prevailing unrest in Manipur, the NEET (UG)-2023 examination has been postponed for candidates who were assigned examination centers within the state.

The official release issued by the authorities states that the exams for these candidates will now be held at a later date.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) had initially scheduled the NEET 2023 examination to take place on May 7, across various centers throughout India. 5751 candidates were scheduled to appear at the two centers in Manipur

However, considering the volatile security situation in Manipur, Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh, the Minister of External Affairs and Education, requested the NTA to explore the possibility of rescheduling the examination to ensure the safety and well-being of the candidates.

In response to the Minister’s request, the NTA promptly decided to postpone the NEET (UG)-2023 exam for candidates assigned to the two examination centers in Manipur.

The new dates for the postponed exams in Manipur will be announced by the NTA in due course.
