Assam police recovers huge cache of arms, ammunition in Udalguri

In a big breakthrough, the Assam police today recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition from Mazbat in Assam’s Udalguri district.

The team of Assam police recovered six AK-47 rifles, one 9 mm pistol, 74 live rounds of the AK-47, eight magazines, and ammunitions from the Sikari Danga area under Mazbat police station.

Informing about the recovery of arms and ammunition, the director general of police, GP Singh, said that Assam police remain committed to freeing the state from all unlawful weapons.

“A huge cache of weapons was recovered by Udalguri police. We remain committed to freeing Assam of all unlawful weapons,” GP Singh tweeted.

Further investigation underway.

Earlier, the Assam Police during a search operation recovered an AK-56 rifle, a 9 mm pistol, a point 32 pistol, 2 magazines with a 9mm Sten gun,9 AK magazines, 44 rounds of ammunition of AK rifle and 7 live cartridges of 9 mm pistol from Assam’s Karbi Anglong district.
