Arunachal Pradesh: Nodal officer for Vibrant Village Programme visits Zemithang; interacts with locals

Nodal officer JB Pandey discussed developing Zemithang as a tourist destination, improving the education sector and the economy by promoting agriculture and horticulture sectors
Director of Department of School Education and Literacy, Arunachal Pradesh, JB Pandey, who has been appointed as the nodal officer for the Vibrant Village Programme, Arunachal Chapter, visited the vibrant village project Zemithang on Tuesday.
During his visit, he interacted with the locals and government officials at Zemithang. He took stock of the activities being taken up by various departments, and discussed various aspects of promoting tourism in a professional way in Zemithang.
Pandey advised the officials to ensure better and greater publicity about the work being done in Zemithang and about the place to promote it as a tourist destination by posting about it in social media platforms.
The nodal officer also suggested getting Zemithang properly connected with banking and postal service to facilitate the villagers with financial services.
Furthermore, to provide better learning opportunities for the students, he suggested a composite culture center at VVP Zemithang so that students can learn art, culture, games, sports, and avail library facilities in the same center.
Speaking on the scope of agriculture and horticulture, he said that under horticulture, walnut cultivation can be encouraged on a large scale.
The nodal officer also advised upgrading the Netaji Subash Chandra Bose Awasiya Vidyalaya in Zemithang to secondary level to check school dropouts, especially girls.
He informed that two digital devices will be provided to every secondary and senior secondary school in the district through CSR activity from his own sources.
