Grand Easter Sunday celebrations across Mizoram

Easter Sunday was celebrated with great religious fervor in Mizoram.
Band parties of different corps of the Salvation Army in different parts of the state on Sunday morning took to the streets playing the hymn “He has risen” to convey the message of Christ’s resurrection.
Special prayers and worship services were also held with full attendees by all churches of different denominations.
Church bells rang after breakfast beckoning the faithful to come and praise God for the resurrection of Christ and tea and snacks, including Easter eggs were served after the church service.
The celebrations continued the whole day with sermons and singing of hymns about the resurrection and even at night.
Many local churches of different denominations, including the Catholic church, organised community feasts as part of the Easter celebrations and the Catholic church members took out candle light procession.
The Easter Sunday celebration began on Saturday night with Catholic Church members holding Easter vigil to mark the beginning of the celebration.

Preachers of different churches preached sermons on the resurrection of Christ. While some churches held community feasts, majority churches served high tea to celebrate the occasion.
Easter Sunday marks the victory of Christ over death after his crucifixion.
