Is domestic violence getting uglier? Husband kills wife with an axe over a quarrel in Assam’s Udalguri

In a gruesome incident that has sent shockwaves through the Udalguri district of Assam, a 26-year-old man identified as Prakash Orang allegedly killed his wife with an axe in the early hours of the morning. The victim, identified as Dina Orang (26), was reportedly attacked by her husband following a quarrel between the couple.
According to sources, the accused also attacked their child with an axe, who was immediately rushed to Tezpur Medical Hospital for treatment. However, Dina succumbed to her injuries on the way to the hospital.
The Paneri police acted swiftly and arrested the accused, who is currently in police custody. A case has been registered, and investigations are underway.
The incident has left the local community in shock and disbelief. The gruesome nature of the crime has sparked outrage, with calls for stricter punishment for perpetrators of domestic violence.
