Alleging failure of the government and the concerned departments in nabbing the culprits even after a month of the death of former APPSC under secretary and assistant exam controller Tumi Gangkak and failing to make the postmortem report of Gangkak public, the Galo Welfare Society (GWS) has decided to hold a one-day protest on April 1 in Itanagar.
The Society also said that on April 10, all Galo community employees will take one day casual leave in all 26 districts of Arunachal Pradesh.
“If the government is not serious about any dialogue, we will be forced to declare a bandh in the state’s capital”, Nyadar Loya, general secretary of the Galo Welfare Society, said.
SP Jimmy Chiram, investigating the case, informed that the investigation team has completed the search and seizure on the spot, collected the postmortem report, and analysed over 100 hours of CCTV footage.
The investigation team has also done a detailed CDR analysis of victims, suspects, and others and detailed interrogation of various suspects and witnesses.
The SP also informed that the CCTV footage is being analysed for any other findings, and the call data records from nearby mobile towers have also been collected and are being analysed.
The updates of the investigation are being shared with the victim’s family regularly, the SP added.
Tumi Gangkak, under-secretary of APPSC was found hanging from a tree in Poma Village in Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh on 24th February, 2023.
Gangkak was under suspension for his alleged involvement in the APPSC question paper leak scam.
