Opinions are still divided over the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill and former Assam Chief Minister speaking on behalf of the Assam Andolan Sangrami Manch said that it would intensify the stir against the Citizenship Bill.
As a mark of protest the activists of the manch will march to the Head Post office in Guwahati to post a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Ram Nath Kovind urging them not to go ahead with the Bill.
When questioned about Asom Gana Parishad’s silence in the cabinet meeting held yesterday, Mahanta assured that as long as he is part of the AGP, nothing can threaten the cause of the party.
However, he refused to give more details stating that every query will be cleared on June 12.
