HM Amit Shah to visit Mizoram on April 1, to inaugurate, lay foundation of projects worth Rs 2414.027 Cr

HM Shah will lay the foundation for the Assam Rifles complex at Zokhawsang and the Laldenga Center in Aizawl

Union Home Minister Amit Shah would be visiting Mizoram capital Aizawl on April 1. He is expected to land in Aizawl around 1PM and then travel by road and chopper to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of 11 projects and schemes for the all-round development of the northeastern state.
Home Minister Shah will lay the foundation for the Assam Rifles Battalion Headquarters complex at Zokhawsang, about 15 km on the eastern outskirts of Aizawl.
Relocation of Assam Rifles base from the heart of Aizawl to the designated camp at Zokhawsang, about 15 km on the eastern outskirts of the state capital, was one of the top agendas of Zoramthanga led MNF government in the last assembly polls held in November 2018.
In February 2019, the Union Home Ministry had directed the Assam Rifles to shift its battalion headquarters to Zokhawsang by May 31 that year.
During his visit to the state on April 1, Shah will also lay the foundation stone for the Laldenga Center in Aizawl. The Centre is being set up in memory of former state chief minister and Mizo National Front (MNF) founder Laldenga.
The Home Minister would also lay the foundation for several road projects, water supply scheme at Zokhawsang and a power sub-station also Zokhawsang.
Here is the list of projects that would be inaugurated by HM Shah:
1) Construction of KLP accommodation for Assam Rifles at Zokhawsang worth Rs 145.7 Crore.
2) Construction & Restoration of approach Road to Assam Rifles Complex at Zokhawsang worth Rs 11.151 Crore.
3) Construction of 2.5 MVA, 33/11 Sub- Station at Assam Rifles Complex Zokhawsang worth Rs 3.675 Crore.
3) Construction of Zokhawsang Water Supply Scheme worth Rs 2.711 Crore
4) Construction of Laldenga Centre worth Rs 193 Crore.
5) Construction of Impounding Dam & Development of Recreation Centre at Keilungliah, Champhai worth Rs 19.88 Crore.
6) Construction of Lianchhiari Run worth Rs 10 Crore
7) Construction of Integrated Command & Control Centre Under Smart City worth Rs 119.2 Crore.
8) Construction of Warehouse at Bairabi worth Rs 2.74 Crore.
9) Construction of Warehouse Commercial Centre at Aizawl worth Rs 2. 70 Crore.
10) Upgradation & Improvement of Road from West Phaileng to Marpara worth Rs 71 Crore.
11) Construction of Zorinpui – Longmasu NH-502A worth Rs 781.85 Crore
12) Construction of Aizawl By Pass Road (Package-1), NH-6 worth Rs 329.70 Crore
13) Construction of Aizawl By Pass Road (Package-1), NH-6 worth Rs 720.72 Crore.
Earlier, on March 21, the Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga had met Amit Shah at the national capital Delhi, following which he confirmed the Union Home Minister’s visit to the state.
