MBBS final year student from Rajasthan studying in Mizoram Dies

A final year MBBS female student from Rajasthan’s Jodhpur district, studying at the lone Zoram Medical College (ZMC) at Falkawn near Aizawl, Mizoram died on Wednesday evening due to suspected severe cardiac arrest.
A faculty member of the ZMC said that the student -Anita Kanwar daughter of Babu Singh, who hails from a small village in Jodhpur district, died just a day before completing her final MBBS examination.
Kanwar’s parents arrived at the lone Lengpui Airport on Thursday from Rajasthan, faculty said.
One of her classmates said that being from a small village, she dreamt of being the first woman doctor from the village.
“Unless autopsy is conducted, we cannot determine the cause of death, but suspected pulmonary embolism/severe heart attack (cardiac arrest),” Chenkual said.
It was yet to be decided whether her remains would be cremated in Mizoram or would be transported to her village by flight,” he said, adding that a farewell ceremony/funeral would be undertaken by the faculty and students of the ZMC at the premises of the medical college.
