Tipra Motha Chief Pradyot Deb Barma: Centre to appoint interlocutor to discuss demands of Tipra Motha within 3 months

In a big development that could have significant impact on political scene and people of Tripura, Tipra Motha Chief Pradyot Deb Barma revealed on Wednesday that the center has agreed to initiate the process to ensure a constitutional solution to its demands.
The royal scion today held a crucial meeting with the Union Home Minister Amit Shah, National BJP President JP Nadda, NEDA convenor Himanta Biswa Sarma, and Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha on Tipra Motha’s demand for a constitutional solution for the indigenous people of Tripura.
Speaking to Northeast Live, Deb Barma informed that the talks to ensure a constitutional solution to Tipra Motha’s demand will be carried forward by an interlocutor to be appointed by the MHA, and the timeframe for the talks has been fixed at 3 months for now.
“I’m happy that this dialogue has started. We are being assured that an interlocutor will be appointed and the official solution to the indigenous people of Tripura, the constitutional solution will be initiated in the next few days” Pradyot Deb Barma said.
“We are given a time frame and we are hopeful that this will happen within the next 3 months” Deb Barma added.
Deb Barma also informed that an accord will be signed between the Union government and the Tipra Motha once an acceptable solution is found.
Lastly, the royal scion exuded confidence that the indigenous people’s problem, which has become the focus of all talks across the northeast, will now have a change.
“I’m confident that the indigenous people’s problem which has become a focus of all talks across the northeast will now have a change because we have remained united, committed and we have not discussed anything for our personal positions but for plight of the 14 lakh people who live in the autonomous council” Deb Barma said.
