In a shocking incident, a woman was allegedly murdered and her body was recovered from a downhill cliff at Ryndang Briew near Umiam Lake in Meghalaya.
On further investigation, the deceased was identified as 26-year-old Leiya-ton Soro, who worked as a nurse at Nazareth hospital.
Soro had reportedly gone missing since Saturday afternoon. Her brother, who she stayed with, after frantic attempts to reach her, finally informed the Police.
The Police found her body through her IMEI number on Tuesday afternoon which revealed her location. The police further registered a murder case under section 302 and sent the body for postmortem at Shillong Civil Hospital.
Moreover, according to police, a team would be dispatched today at the site to gather further evidence in this regard.
