The All Arunachal Pradesh Students Union (AAPSU) today held a crucial meeting with all the federal organisations as well as District Students Unions (DSU)s regarding the Pan Arunachal Joint Steering Committee (PAJSC)’s call for declaring null and void the APPSC exams from 2014-2022, in which alleged malpractices are found.
Soon after holding crucial discussions, Gollo Lento President Papum Pare District Students Union president said, “We decided that we are totally against the Null and void issue. The AAPSU too has affirmed this and moved a resolution. We appeal to the government also that their (PAJSC)’s charter of demands, which the unnecessary and meaningless organisations have put forward, we appealed the government that it should not be recognized.”
If the demands remain unfulfilled the students bodies including the AAPSU has threatened to go for statewide shutdown on March 14.
The students body also threatened if the government at all agrees to the demand of the PAJSC, then this will lead to serious law and order situation. The student leader said, “If it is recognized than there will be lots of problems in the state. If at all such things (declaring null and void) happens than it should begin from the beginning when appointments were made (1992).”
Reaffirming it’s stand the AAPSU and the DSUs said, “In any way we will not agree to the Null and Void demand, and even if it is agreed (by the government) there will be such a law and order problem, it will go beyond control.”
Meanwhile, the AAPSU has also demanded that a through probe must be initiated to reveal the truth leading to APPSC under secretary Tumi Gangkak’s mysterious death case.
The students leaders who participated in the meeting said, “We the AAPSU and DSUs spoke clearly today, and decided that there must be a thorough probe into the death of Tumi Gangkak. None must be spared and investigation must be a thorough one.”
It may be mentioned that the state government on February 18 after a meeting with the PAJSC, had informed the latter’s demand for declaring null and void the APPSC exams from 2014-2022, has been sent to the APPSC, since according to the government it is the competent authority.
