He won the seat in 2008, 2013 and 2018. In 2013 he won the seat on a Naga People’s Front (NPF) ticket. He defeated Yankithung Yanthan who was then with the Congress. In 2018 Patton defeated
Yanthan who was contesting as a Naga People Front candidate.
This time, Patton’s opponents are Y Kikon of Rashtriya Janata Dal, Senchumo Lotha of JD-U and Independent candidate Hayithung Tungoe Lotha.
