President Droupadi Murmu’s special address in Arunachal Pradesh Assembly

President Droupadi Murmu today addressed the Special Assembly session of Arunachal Pradesh.
At the onset, President Murmu said that she was overwhelmed for the fact that “Sunrise of Development” is enlightening Arunachal Pradesh.
“The state is an important factor in terms of development of the entire nation,” said President Murmu.
President Murmu also invoked former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee for his decisive steps to take the frontier state forward in terms of development and progress.
She said,”When he was the Prime Minister, he created the DoNER ministry for the development of the entire Northeast region. Soon after that, the process of development in Arunachal Pradesh as well as the Northeast gained momentum. The Centre is working to boost the dreams and aspirations of Atal Behari Vajpayee for the development of Northeast.”
Besides, President Droupadi Murmu also batted for more representation of women in the state assemblies of the nation including Arunachal Pradesh. The President said,”For overall and inclusive development of our country, there should be more participation of women in every field of work. Participation of women must increase in all the state assemblies including that of Arunachal Pradesh, as well as in other institutions of people’s representation.”
President Droupadi Murmu also harped on the issue climate change and pollution as she expressed serious concern. The President referred to the ‘Pakke Tiger Reserve 2047 Declaration on Climate Change Resilient and Responsive Arunachal Pradesh’, which aims to promote “climate-resilient development” in the state.
Expressing her viewpoint, President Murmu said,”In today’s era, environmental pollution and climate change are critical issues. We have to quickly find solutions to these concerns. These matters become more important for a geographically sensitive state like Arunachal Pradesh. I am happy to note that the policymakers of this state have taken care of this issue by showing commitment to climate change through the Pakke declaration.”
Highighting about the state’s potential in terms of organic food production, President Murmu said, “Arunachal Pradesh has the full capacity to grow as a Natural Fruit Bowl. In this context she mentioned about the Khasi-Mandarin species of oranges which has a good demand in terms of export and also the Kiwi fruit.
