Union Home Minister Amit Shah today made 2 big assurances to the people of poll-bound Nagaland. The first was regarding the Naga political issue and secondly about the ENPO’s demand for separate statehood or creation of Frontier Nagaland.
Addressing a massive rally in Mon, Shah reiterated that the Government of India is committed towards bringing a solution to the vexed Naga political issue. It was indeed a big and open message to the people of Nagaland when he said, “PM Modiji has ushered a new era of peace and development for entire Northeast. We signed an accord with Bru Reangs, resolved the decades long Bodo issue, signed the Peace Accord for Karbi Anglong and I want to convey each and every individual of Nagaland that we always intend that talks pertaining to Naga issue is successful and there is a solution to the decades long Naga issue.”
Home Minister Amit Shah heaped praise on Narendra Modi’s leadership and said, “I want to assure you (people) that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and under his leadership the Union Home Ministry is well aware about the emotions of Nagaland. Keeping in mind about your dignity, we will hold further deliberations regarding the issue.”
Speaking on the ENPO’s demand for separate statehood or creation of Frontier Nagaland, Amit Shah said, “Some of our ENPO friends had announced to boycott the elections, and the reasons to boycott was also valid. But we (govt) held deliberations with ENPO. We have understood their (ENPO) demands and I have assured, that after the elections under the leadership of Neiphiu Rio, the NDA government which will be formed, we will resolve all your issues.”
Amit Shah in a clear statement about the ENPO’s demand said, “I want to tell My Brothers and Sisters of Nagaland that the Government of India is with you. Rio has also said that whatever is discussed he will standby to that and resolving of issues is not far away.”
