President Droupodi Murmu is all set to arrive in Arunachal’s capital Itanagar today to attend the 37th statehood day celebration this afternoon as the chief guest. The 2-day tour will be her maiden visit to the state after becoming the President. It needs to be mention here, Arunachal Pradesh, which was earlier known as the North-East Frontier Agency or NEFA, gained Union Territory status on January 20, 1972. It attained the status of a state on February 20, 1987.
