Rituraj Sinha questioned if the stadium was not ready, how was it inaugurated in the first place by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on 16th December 2022

The war between the NPP and the BJP reached a new level today witn BJP accusing the NPP-led Meghalaya government of trying to stall the BJP campaign in poll bound Meghalaya.
The BJP directly accused the Conrad Sangma government to playing dirty politics by not giving permission for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s rally scheduled for 24th February at the PA Stadium in Tura. The government denied permission stating that the stadium is not ready.
Addressing the media persons, BJP’s Northeast Co-Convener and party national general secretary Rituraj Sinha questioned that if the stadium was not ready, how was it inaugurated by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma on 16th December 2022.
Sinha added that the NPP and others were worried over the BJP’s rise and were trying to sabotage the party’s campaign.
“On 16th December they said that the stadium has been completed and held a grand inauguration telling to the people of Meghalaya that the stadium was open. But after 2 months they are denying permission to hold Prime Minister Modi’s rally in PA Sagma stadium only because somewhere there is fear” Rituraj Sinha said.
Sinha alleged that the opposition in this election like the NPP, TMC and others are scared that people in the state are accepting Modi and that the Modi wave has come to Meghalaya.
“The local parties and the other national parties contesting this election whether it is the Congress, NPP or TMC are all completely taken aback by the surge in sentiment for Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the surge in sentiment to bring a BJP government in Meghalaya.” Sinha alleged.
The PA Sangma stadium, which is the largest open space in Tura, is under the administrative control of the state government.
The stadium was in the news earlier after Chief Minister Conrad Sangma inaugurated the incomplete stadium in December last year. The BJP had also attacked the NPP on numerous occasion for denying credit to the Centre for the construction of the stadium.
