Meghalaya TMC candidate Elgiva Rynjah accuses her opponents of using money to woo-voters

She maintained that the voters in the Constituency are educated and would listen to their conscience while voting

Meghalaya TMC candidate Elgiva Rynjah, the youngest candidate to contest the elections from the North Shillong constituency has accused her opponents of using money power in the constituency.

Rynjah said that some candidates are spending huge amounts of money to woo voters. However, she maintained that the voters in the Constituency are educated and would listen to their conscience while voting.

“For the first time, I saw that people in North Shillong are going nuts over cash flow. I never encourage my youth with money. If we can say that there is a lot of cash flow, we have to question the candidates in our constituency, especially the retired candidates how they get the money from. I would request the voters of North Shillong and the citizens if they see that there is a cash flow in and around the constituency they should report.” Rynjah said.

Elgiva Rynjah challenged the political parties using money to woo voters saying that in her political rallies or meetings people who come to attend are her genuine supporters, adding she does not need to buy them.

She also urged the voters to be smart enough to know where the money comes from.
“The electorates of North Shillong will do the needful and will show the verdict who have they voted for and hope that they will not fall for the money because money is not everybody’s game. You need to have a mind. If you have good mind you can win the election.” Rynjah added.

The TMC leader also said that Trinamool Congress in North Shillong does not need to woo voters with money. “We woo the voters with our manifesto, with our policy statement, with our work that we have showed them in this past one year.”

Speaking on poll-campaigning in the North Shillong constituency for upcoming the elections, Rynjah said: “With national general secretary (Abhishek Banerjee) visit to north Shillong and campaigning in police bazaar, we could see the crowd which was gathered there. Abhishek Banerjee is a youth icon. When we see that young leaders have the voice to fight against the BJP and the center when they can stand up for our Meghalaya, I think the community in North Shillong, the people in north Shillong, the voters in North Shillong will definitely change their mind and vote for TMC.”
