Union Home Minister Amit Shah who is on a hectic campaign trail in Meghalaya’s Garo Hills, today lauched a scathing attack on the NPP led state government for siphonning of funds allotted by the Centre for various welfare schemes.
Addressing a massive rally at Rangsakona in Garo Hills, Amit Shah said,”I wan to ask You today that do all of You have access to safe drinking water? For this purpose PM Modi ji has sent Rs 24000 crore but still You people have no access to drinking water.”
“Than where did this money go? Tell me where did it go? Who siphonned off this money? Mitro (Friends), this money has fallen prey to corruption.”
While sending out a clear and strong message against corruption pertaining to siphonning off Central welfare funds, Amit Shah said,”Tell Me that whether an investigation must be initiated into the siphonning off funds?”
To this the crowd replied Yes. And then, the Union Home Minister informed, “BJP in it’s election manifesto has decided that as and when a BJP government is formed we conduct probe under the Chairmanship of a Supreme Court judge into the anomalies against accused persons and send them behind the bars.”
Referring to the PM Awaas Yojana, Amit Shah said, “People haven’t been provided houses even after Modi Ji gave money for building pucca houses for the poor.”
For this he blamed the incumbent Conrad Sangma government and said, “this happened as the state government looted the money meant for building houses for the poor. Vote for BJP and every poor will get a pucca house before 2025.”
Besides, Home Minister Shah also launched a scathing attack on Mukul Sangma and Conrad Sangma.
In terms of employment in government sectors, Shah said,”Wherever BJP has formed government, we have wiped out corruption from government services, but when Mukul Sangma came to power he gives appointment to his family members and his close people, than comes Conrad Sangma where a similar situation prevailed.”
“But if You vote for BJP, than we will ensure recruitment in government job in the most transparent manner,” Shah assured.
Escalating his attack on Chief Minister Conrad Sangma and former Chief Minister Mukul Sangma, he said,”Mukul Sangma has gone to TMC, a party that is known for Tolabaaji, Commissions, Corruption and Hooliganism. He is going to bring this only to the State. On the other hand, Conrad Sangma has always failed you.”
Apart from this the Union Home Minister further alleged that funds sent by the Centre for rural connectivity, were also siphonned off. However, he promised that, “I want to tell if You bring BJP to power we will connect every village through roads in the 5 years.”
Amit Shah also referred to the development model implemented in Assam by the Himanta Biswa Sarma government.
In this context he said,”Assam is very near to this place, and under the BJP rule, it is flourishing and being developed under the able leadership of Himanta ji. We will work on the same developmental model of Assam for making a prosperous Meghalaya.”
He further added,”There is a BJP government in Assam since the last 8 years. Now, see how Assam is making progress and we know that similar development has to usher in Meghalaya too. For that You have to press the button (in EVM) in favour of BJP and set up a government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
Meanwhile, Amit Shah also exuded confidence that BJP is heading for a massive victory in Meghalaya considering the response of the people.
