The Meghalaya Congress president further added, "We are not saying that we will win all, but how many we will win, time will tell."
The Meghalaya Congress will be releasing it’s manifesto for the ensuing assembly elections on February 11. This has been informed to Northeast Live by Meghalaya Congress president Vincent Pala.
In an exclusive conversation, Pala said, “We will release the manifesto on time on the 11th (February). So we are doing this in a series of stages and definitely we should do well.”
Vincent Pala also exuded confidence that his party candidates are doing well in the runup to the elections. He added that the Congress will put up a good show in at least 42 seats out of the total 60 seats it is fighting.
Pala said,”because we are in opposition we are lying low. But, I am very confident as of today because so far in terms of strategy works that our candidates are doing well in every seat we are fighting. Today we have realized that out of 60 (seats), we are giving a very good contest in 42 seats.”
The Meghalaya Congress president further added, “We are not saying that we will win all, but how many we will win, time will tell.”
In fact, Pala also pointed out that there are no differences within the party as far as allottment of tickets is concerned.
To substantiate this, the MPCC president said,”As of today, Congress is the only party where out of 60 seats, in terms of the allottment of the seats, there are only 2 rebels. Those are the seats we knew much in advance that there will be a little bit of rebel. Inspite of this, there are no complaints against us, there is no charge that we have taken money, or there is no charge that we are giving (tickets) to one family.”
While speaking about the campaign strategy, Vincent Pala said, “We are planning to invite a few of the leaders like Shashi Tharoor, Chidambaram and may be Priyanka Gandhi to different areas based on the demand by the candidates. So, we have a different strategy especially in the door to door campaign.”
