Continuing with its drive against illegal migrants, the police in Kanubari of Arunachal Pradesh arrested 14 persons who are suspected to be Bangladeshis.

The search headed by the officer–in–charge of Kanubari Police Station arrested the 14 illegal migrants from various work sites. The police said that the illegal migrants were arrested after they failed to produce the Inner Line Permit.

An order for checking of Inner Line Permit was issued few days back by Assistant Deputy Commissioner of Kanubari on the advice of the District Commissioner of Longding to heck illegal migrants from nearby states.

More such checking is likely to continue as Kanubari is strategically located in the junction of Assam and Nagaland. Earlier on May 12, police had arrested 87 persons in Longding suspected to be Bangladeshi nationals without Inner Line Permit.
