Prez Droupadi Murmu, PM Modi, NE CMs and other leaders extend New Year wishes to the nation

People celebrated the arrival of the New Year with dazzling lights, music and dance across the world

President of India Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Ministers of the Northeastern region and other political leaders greeted the nation on the New Year 2023.

President Murmu wished everyone a ‘Happy New Year.’ Taking to Twitter president Murmu wrote, “Happy New Year to all! Greetings and best wishes to all fellow citizens and Indians living abroad. May the Year 2023 bring new inspirations, goals and achievements in our lives. Let us resolve to rededicate ourselves to the unity, integrity and inclusive development of the nation.”

The Prime Minister also wished for hope, happiness, success and good health for all.

“Have a great 2023! May it be filled with hope, happiness and lots of success. May everyone be blessed with wonderful health,” PM Modi tweeted.

Chief Ministers of Northeast states also greeted the people of the nation on the first day of the new year and wished them health, success, happiness, and wealth in the year to come.

People in Mizoram burst crackers and engaged in festivities as 2023 arrived with new hopes and aspirations.

People celebrated the arrival of the New Year with dazzling lights, music and dance across the world after two years of subdued festivities due to the Covid-19 restrictions.

On the first day of the New Year, large crowds flocked to temples in several parts of India to offer prayers.

Early this morning, a “Ganga aarti” was performed at Varanasi’s Assi Ghat.

Devotees gathered at religious places in their various hometowns to get a glimpse of morning aarti today and start the new year with blessings.
