In a big breakthrough the 5 Assam Rifles busted a drugs smuggling racket and recovered heroin worth Rs 4 crore in border town Moreh. 4persons identified as Lamngailal Kipgen (52) yrs Ngamgoulen Touthang(52) yrs, Seingam Haokip (38) yrs and Letkhochon Kipgen (22) yrs were apprehended in connection with the seizure of drugs consignment.

The consignment was seized when a 4-wheeler and a 2-wheeler were intercepted at at MVCP of C- COY, 5 Assam Rifles, T. Motha Village (Minou), Moreh.

Upon frisking both the vehicles, the narcotics packed in 50 soapboxes were seized.

The said Contraband items weigh 2150 Grams and it may be worth more than 4 Crore in International Market. The contraband consignment, the four accused persons and the two vehicles were handed over to Moreh Police Station for further legal proceedings.
