NRC co-ordinator Prateek Hajela who have been summoned by the District Magistrate for verification of his documents appeared before the authorities at the NRC office situated at Zoo Road in Guwahati.

The senior IAS officer who is in-charge of the mega exercise while talking to newspersons said that it is a normal verification by the district magistrate on certain authenticity claims.

However, whether or not the senior official’s name will find way to the National Register of Citizens will only be certain after the verification process.
