Launching a scathing attack on BJP, Meghalaya Cong vice president PN Syiem said a non-BJP govt is the state is absolutely possible

The Meghalaya Congress has already identified at least 35-40 candidates for contesting in the upcoming state assembly elections. Briefing newspersons, Meghalaya Congress vice-president PN Syiem said that the All India Congress Committee (AICC) will take a final call and approve the final list.

Syiem also emphasized that the choice of candidates matters most as far as election is concerned while maintaining that the Grand Old Party has it’s vote bank intact in every constituency.

Meanwhile, at a time when the political parties are already on their toes to woo the voters, the Congress has launched a scathing attack on the BJP. PN Syiem took things to a new high when he remarked that a government can be easily formed in the state sans the BJP.

The Congress leader attributed this to the ‘Weak Numbers’ of the Saffron Party. To substantiate his statements, PN Syiem said that the BJP has only 2 MLAs. Syiem feels that the NPP-led MDA is constantly insulting the saffron party by asking them to leave if they are unhappy with the coalition.

On a query regarding him contesting against sitting BJP MLA AL Hek, the Meghalaya Congress vice-president said that for him any opponent is a challenge. However, Syiem was confident enough when he said, that it should not be too difficult for him since he has worked closely with the people.
