Yakha who went to jail for firing a gun at a SDF-SKM clash in April, has blamed the party's policies for his decision

Sikkim’s main opposition party Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF)’s spokesperson Avinash Yaka has resigned.

He submitted his resignation to the former chief minister and SDF president, Pawan Chamling.
In his resignation letter, Yakha has blamed the party’s policies for his decision. Yakha said that he has supported SDF while it was in power and even as an Opposition party. But he has lost faith in the party now.

Worth mentioning that Yakha has been under the radar for a while, following the SDF-SKM clash in Soreng on April 30, where he had allegedly whipped out a gun and shot in the air to escape. Earlier in June he surrendered to Gyalshing Police. He is out on bail now.
