Dy CM Prestone Tynsong said a defamation case will be filed against Gokhale for trying to tarnish the govt’s image.
Meghalaya Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tyngsong on Tuesday slammed All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) national spokesperson Saket Gokhale for his allegations of financial irregularities of over Rs 632 crore in the Meghalaya Ecotourism Infrastructure Development Project (MEIDP), sanctioned by the New Development Bank (NDB) and called him a ‘psycho’.
Denying all the allegations Tyngsong said, “Gokhale has made allegations often about the functioning of the state government. I personally feel this man has become a psycho type because the allegations should be substantiated with a document but this man seems to know from here and there and ultimately put up in public domain in a form of a statement which is totally wrong.”
The Deputy Chief Minister also said that a defamation case will be filed against the national spokesperson of AITC.
Tynsong alleged that the intention of the spokesperson is just to spoil the image of the government ahead of the elections.
Clearing the allegations made by AITC spokesperson Saket Gokhale, Tynsong said that the Meghalaya Ecotourism Infrastructure Development Project got sanctioned for 731 crores for implementation in different places throughout the state. The project is implemented from 2022 to 2026 as per the agreement signed between the govt of Meghalaya, govt of India, and the New Development Bank (NDB).
