The feat, to create road safety awareness, was achieved at the Gyalwa Tsangyang Gyatso high-altitude stadium in the frontier state

Arunachal Pradesh’s Tawang district on Sunday entered the Guinness Book of World Records by forming the longest sentence using 2,350 helmets to complete the slogan ‘Jai Hind’. The feat was achieved at the Gyalwa Tsangyang Gyatso high-altitude stadium in the frontier state.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu kicked off the helmet formation at 6:30 AM. By 8 AM, the helmet formation was completed, with Khandu leading the formation. The event titled ‘Lakshya’ was organized by Amazing Namaste Foundation in collaboration with the Government of Arunachal Pradesh to create awareness about road safety.

“An incredible feat as Tawang district entered prestigious Guinness Book of World Records by forming largest helmet sentence, highlighting importance of road safety. A total of 2,350 ISI marked helmets were used to form ‘Jai Hind’ at Gyalwa Tsangyang Gyatso stadium,” CM Khandu tweeted.

Chief Minister Khandu and Atul Kulkarni, chairman of the Amazing Namaste Foundation, jointly received the Certificate of Confirmation from the Guinness Book of World Records representative, Swapnil Dangorikar.

Speaking on the occasion, Khandu said that awareness of road safety measures and adherence to traffic rules has become all the more important with improved roads in the hills.

He tweeted, “Making of the record is message to our people and those coming from across India to put on helmet and follow traffic rules. As roads in Arunachal have improved, people tend to drive fast, which proves to be fatal. Wearing a helmet keeps you away from the hospital bed!”
