Meghalaya: GK Iangrai sent to judicial custody

Iangrai was arrested on November 2 for his involvement in a “vehicle scam” and blatant overstepping of jurisdiction.
Meghalaya Police officer, GK Iangrai has been sent to judicial custody till November 25. The order came after he was produced before the Special Court today.
Iangrai was arrested on November 2 for his involvement in a “vehicle scam” and blatant overstepping of jurisdiction and authority with regards to procurement of vehicles and their misuse when he was the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (Administration).
An internal inquiry had found Iangrai involved in acquisition of 29 vehicles that were unregistered and deployed for his personal use.
