Meghalaya: Corruption accused GK Iangrai arrested

Iangrai who was the commandant in charge of the state police Special Force 10 was reportedly arrested earlier in the afternoon.

Corruption-accused senior police official GK Iangrai has been arrested said sources. Iangrai who was the commandant in charge of the state police Special Force 10 was reportedly arrested earlier in the afternoon.

It was only on Friday that the CID of the state police had registered a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act and also constituted a Special Investigating team to oversee the case.

It may be mentioned that an internal inquiry had found Iangrai involved in the acquisition of 29 vehicles that were unregistered and were deployed for his personal use.
