Man throws eggs at King Charles III. Detained person while throwing eggs shouted "this country was built on the blood of slaves."

King Charles III and Queen Consort, Camilla, had to face an untoward situation during their visit to the city of York, aftert a man threw at least 3 eggs targetting them.

The detained person while throwing the eggs shouted “this country was built on the blood of
slaves” while the crowd kept on booing “God Save the King”.

Charles and Camilla were in the northern city to unveil a statue of his late mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

The king and queen consort were being welcomed to York by city leaders when a protester apparently threw three eggs at them, all of which missed, before the pair were ushered away.
