Assam: Drugs worth several crore seized; 1 drug peddler hailing from Manipur arrested by Assam Police in Sonapur.
Acting on specific inputs, the Assam Police recovered a huge consignment of YABA tablets in a special anti-narcotics crackdown this morning.
A vehicle bearing registration number DL-7CK-8778 was intercepted at Sonapur on the outskirts of Guwahati, leading to the recovery of the drugs consignment.
As per inputs, the value of the seized consignment of (YABA tablets) in the international market is estimated to be around Rs 15 crore.
An individual hailing from Manipur was apprehended in connection with the recovery. It may be mentioned that 60000 YABA tablets were recovered during the operation.
Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minsiter Himanta Biswa Sarma lauded the efforts of the police in the crackdown against drugs.
