Tripura CM inaugurates synthetic football turf in Agartala

Tripura CM Manik Saha inaugurates second astro turf in state. The project has been completed at a cost of Rs 5 crore.

In a big boost to sports infra Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha inaugurated a synthetic football turf at the Umakanta Mini Stadium in Agartala today.

Besides, the Tripura Chief Minister also laid the foundation for setting up floodlights in the stadium.

Chief Minister Manik Saha was accompanied by Dy CM Jishnu Debbarma, Sports & Youth Affairs Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, Agartala Mayor Dipak Majumder, Olympiad gymnast Dipa Karmakar besides other dignitaries.

The astro turf at the Umakanta Mini Stadium has been setup at a cost of around Rs 5 crore. This is the first synthetic football turf stadium in the capital city and the second in the state.

Chief Minister Manik Saha said that the new astro turf will help the budding football talents and keep youths engaged in sports activities.

Moreover, Tripur CM Saha believes this will keep the youths away from the menace of drugs.
