Prez Murmu addresses members of Mizoram Legislative Assembly. President Murmu highlights about Act East Policy.
It was a historic day, as President Droupadi Murmu addressedd the Members of the Mizoram Legislative Assembly today.
In her address, President Murmu said the Mizoram Legislative Assembly has evolved a model of debate, healty discussion and mutual respect as an effective instrument in resolving the people’s issues.
Highlighting the Centre’s development push, President Droupadi Murmu said that the ‘Act East Policy’ has special emphasis on the Northeast, which has full potential to enhance bi-lateral ties with the Asia-Pacific Region.
President Murmu in her speech said,”After achieving the status of a full-fledged State in 1987, Mizoram has not looked back. The topography of the hilly region poses special challenges for development; yet the state has done remarkably well on all parameters, especially when it comes to human development.”
