Mizoram Health department’s Food and Drugs Administration on Tuesday issued a warning on the consumption of Pantop-D SR, purported to be manufactured by Aristo Pharmaceuticals in Sikkim.
The warning said that a batch of Pantop-D SR after testing in the laboratory, found out to be of inferior quality.
While the Pantop-D SR was to contain 40 mg (two 20 mg) pantoprazole and Domperidone pellets 30 mg, analysis report found that both the tablets do not contain such compounds, the statement said.
Being a popular brand, the analysis report created quite a furor among the general public.

The state health department, however, clarified that only a particular batch number was found to be below the mark.
The FDA officials said that steps have been taken to find out whether the Aristo Pharmaceuticals Company really manufactured the drugs or some other companies were manufacturing the same drugs under the name of the Aristo Company.
Meanwhile, the officials hoped that the truth would be out soon.
They also cautioned the pharmacy shops in the state to take precautions to ensure that they are selling only genuine products.
