Jamir is the eighth candidate from Nagaland to represent the state at Femina Miss India
Naga beauty, 23-year-old Jentiren Jamir will represent Nagaland in the Femina Miss India 2024 to be held on October 16 in Mumbai.
Jamir, who is pursuing her Master’s in Sociology, is passionate about becoming a prominent social activist, focusing her efforts on meaningful social change.
Hailing from the scenic hills of Nagaland, Jamir has always embraced her homeland’s vibrant festivals and rich cultural heritage. Her optimistic and decisive outlook on life drives her to constantly seek the silver lining in every challenge. She was crowned 2nd runner-up at the Miss Nagaland 2022 pageant, and since then, her journey has been nothing short of inspiring.
In 2022, shortly after her success at Miss Nagaland, Jamir launched her “Beauty with a Purpose” project, cantered on the theme of “Kindness Seed.” This initiative focuses on uplifting the underprivileged and amplifying the voices of marginalized communities. Through this project, she has fostered a culture of kindness and empathy, inspiring people to perform acts of kindness that create a ripple effect across communities.
Jamir’s educational background is as impressive as her pageantry journey. She completed her schooling at Jubilee Memorial School in Mokokchung, pursued her Higher Secondary education at B Borooah College in Guwahati, and obtained her bachelor’s degree from Tetso College in Sovima, Chumoukedima Nagaland. Her passion for learning and advocacy is evident in her academic pursuits.
In preparation for the national stage, Jamir received training from the prestigious Cocoaberry Talent and Academy in Mumbai. Her primary goal in the Femina Miss India competition is to leverage the platform to advocate for the less privileged and amplify marginalized voices. By engaging with these communities, she has gained a deeper understanding of the true essence of life and the importance of gratitude.
Following her crowning as Miss Nagaland’s 2nd runner-up, Jamir worked extensively with downtrodden communities under the Miss Nagaland BASN (Beauty and Aesthetic Society of Nagaland) initiative. Her efforts have highlighted her genuine dedication to social causes and her commitment to using her platform for the greater good.
Jamir is the eighth candidate from Nagaland to represent the state at Femina Miss India, with the first being Angelina Kevichusa, who made history by bagging the 1st runner-up title in 1975.
Nagaland’s rich fashion sense and unique styling have long been a hallmark of the region, and its young women are increasingly making waves in the pageantry industry, both nationally and internationally. The recent success of Ruopfuzhanuo Whiso, who secured the 4th runner-up title at Miss Universe India 2024, further solidifies Nagaland’s growing presence on the beauty pageant stage.
As Jentiren Jamir prepares to take the national stage, she carries with her the hopes of her state, representing not just beauty but a powerful vision for social change.
