Bhaichung Bhutia believes that Union Civil Aviation Min Jyotiraditya Scindia will immediately take prompt action to address the demands.
One of the most favoured tourist destinations, the Himalayan state of Sikkim is left virtually with no air connectivity. Despite a number of new air routes being created in the region, Sikkim’s economy which is based on tourism is feared to dip with no air connectivity to any part of the nation.
Highly concerned about this, Hamro Sikkim Party president Bhaichung Bhutia met Union Civil Aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia and apprised the latter about the circumstances. Bhutia also handed over a letter to the union minister seeking:

SpiceJet was the only operator that ran daily flights to and from the Greenfield Airport in Sikkim’s Pakyong. Spicejet earlier started its first-ever non-stop flight between Kolkata and Pakyong under Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) scheme.
Bad weather and low visibility were some of the bottlenecks that the Spicejet authorities had cited which forced them to shut flight operations.
