Five officials of the public service commission have been put under suspension with immediate effect due to their alleged involvement in the question paper leak in an examination conducted by the government.
The five include officials in the rank of deputy secretary, joint secretary and undersecretary of the establishment department of the APPSC.
The officials have been identified as joint secretary Nima Tondrang, deputy secretary Bate Koyu, under secretary Joram Nagu,private secretary Debashish Dey and PA Swaroop Bhattacharjee.
Secretary D Verma of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission, or APPSC, ordered that disciplinary actions be taken against them as well. Verma gave the officials the directive to remain in the state capital Itanagar until the decision is implemented.
The five are allegedly responsible for leaking the questions from the assistant engineer (civil) recruiting exam that took place on August 26 and 27. The matter came to light two days later.

On the directive of Governor Brigadier General (Ret.) Dr. B. D. Mishra, the suspension order was issued. In the interim, the CBI has assumed control of the probe and sent agents to Itanagar.
Taket Jerang, the APPSC deputy secretary who served as the assistant controller of exams, was previously detained by the police in connection with the paper leak, along with nine other people. The Commission has put Jerang on retirement.
On October 14, APPSC Chairman Nipo Nabam submitted his resignation, taking moral responsibility for the situation.
The paper leak came to light on August 29 after a written complaint was received by the police from a candidate of the recruitment examination
