At least 151 people are led to death and 100 further injuries in a crush at a Halloween event on Saturday in Seoul, South Korean officials said. The 19 foreign nationals killed in the Seoul crush include residents of Iran, Norway, China, and Uzbekistan.
According to officials, a massive crowd started pushing forward in a small passageway and several people were crushed to death.
As per media reports, the chief of Seoul’s Yongsan fire department warned that the death toll would increase and that many of the injured were in severe condition.

As per an official at the National Fire Agency, Reuters report, the area remains still chaotic and officials were still trying to figure out the exact number of people injured.
100,000 people reportedly attended the first outdoor no-mask Halloween celebration in the area since the pandemic.
As per Associated Press report, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol released a statement urging authorities to ensure prompt treatment for the injured and to evaluate the security of the celebration areas.
The AP reported that he also gave the health ministry instructions to quickly dispatch disaster medical assistance teams and reserve beds in local hospitals to treat the injured.
