APPSC Paper leak case: CBI takes over probe

The Central Bureau of Investigation in this connection has registered a case against a person & other unknown officials.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has taken over the probe into the alleged paper leak scam of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service commission. It may be mentioned that the CBI will probe the ‘paper leak’ scam following a request made by the Arunachal Pradesh government led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

Earlier, on October 14, Nipo Nabam had stepped down as Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission Chairman owing moral responsibility of the paper leak case. The APPSC chairman handed over his resignation letter to Governor BD Mishra.

Preliminary probe had exposed the involvement of the APPSC Secretary in connection with the assistant engineer (civil) examination paper leak case. APPSC secretary Jayanta Kumar Ray has already been put under suspension.

The probe into the case begun after a candidate filed a police complaint on August 29, stating that he suspected that the Assistant Engineer (civil) examination paper was leaked.

More than 400 candidates appeared in the examination that was held on August 26 and 27.
