Has the MDA government in Meghalaya been able to resolve the unemployment issue? Claims apart, hundreds of youths led by the Hynniewtrep National Youth Movement (HNYM ) took to the streets in Shillong demanding that the government pass a law for ensuring maximum employment of local youths in the private sector in the state.
Speaking to newsmen, Joint Secretary, HNYM, Wyraiwan Sohtun said that less than 5% local youths are employed in different private sectors of the state which includes cement companies, private sector banks as well as educational institutes besides others.
